Building Wild
My Crazy Log Cabin Project: In the heart of America’s last wild paradises, Paul DiMeo and his renovation team create the most whimsical buildings for stressed-out city dwellers – all while battling the elements and the various challenges of the wilderness.
In the docuseries “Wild Living,” each episode features Paul DiMeo and his partner Pat “Tuffy” Bakaitis traveling to America’s last wild paradises, which are hard to find on ordinary maps, to build a log cabin for the modern pioneer.
Each time, Paul and Tuffy work with a new client who owns a piece of land in the wilderness and dreams of a retreat far removed from civilization. The two uncoronated kings of log cabins meet their deadlines, even if they often have to first build a path to the construction site. To keep costs down, the clients provide materials and a capable crew of workers made up of family and friends willing to endure some hardships.
In just seven days, the ultimate wilderness log cabins are created – from a dreamy ski lodge for a snowboarder on a lonely snow-covered hill to a log cabin built on a rotating foundation that allows the owner to enjoy both sunrise and sunset from the porch.
